Lava Enameller
The lava enameller
is both a stonework specialist and a master of kiln-fired arts. Using traditional techniques, they apply enamel to the surface of lava stone. In this way, they create enamelled lava pieces — one-offs or series productions — for the fields of art craftsmanship, furniture, urban design and industry.

Several generations of stone-trade specialists have been trained there. The school provides vocational training in disciplines such as stone cutting, stone engraving and sculpture, and lava enamelling. It is currently the only place where this last discipline is taught.
