Restoration of a priory in the Combrailles

The charm of a Raku-style kitchen in this former priory in the Combrailles

Sept 2026

Custom-made countertop, sink, and basin with a terracotta-colored raku finish in a kitchen at a priory in the Combrailles region, crafted by Tradition Pierre

This set of countertops, whose centerpiece is a solid-surface countertop with an enameled lava sink, incorporates several clever features: a wide drainboard with its own drain, and a small sink for rinsing salads or vegetables.
Nevertheless, the design of this kitchen—with its slightly contemporary shapes and colors—harmonizes with the historic architecture, whose restoration and choice of materials have preserved the spirit of the former priory.
The shade achieved for this RAKU-effect enamel matches the countertops to the terracotta tiles. The overall elegance, aesthetics, and practicality of the space make this room ideal for both daily living and entertaining.
